Kaspersky Lab has hit the top spot at the V3 Technology awards 2013, winning two highly sought after awards: 'Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business' was named as the ‘Best Enterprise Security Product’ and Costin Raiu, the Director of Kaspersky Lab’s Global Research and Analysis Team (GReAT), was named 'Technology Hero of the Year'.
These prestigious awards recognize Kaspersky Lab as a leader in the IT security industry yet again, constantly working toward making the digital world safer for more than 300 million users worldwide. The company has been fighting a high-tech battle against malicious programs for over 16 years, dedicating itself to researching and designing solutions to combat increasingly complex cyberthreats. Kaspersky Lab fought off stiff competition from other major IT security players to land its two big prizes.
"Our malware discoveries and research are all dedicated to making the online world a safer place, so it’s great to see V3 readers recognizing the Kaspersky Lab team’s hard work," explains Kirill Slavin, Managing Director, UK and Ireland at Kaspersky Lab. "We have had a very successful year, and look forward to continuing these great achievements. We will not stop until cyberspace is a safer place for consumers and businesses alike and our second-to-none research will certainly continue to help us in this quest."
Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business is the company’s latest business security software. The product delivers a broad array of tools and technologies to enable companies to control and protect all endpoint devices, helping to keep sensitive company data secure and confidential.
Costin Raiu is the Director of Kaspersky Lab’s Global Research and Analysis Team (GReAT), which detects, analyses and provides guidance on some of the world’s most advanced cyberthreats. This work requires world-class skills and expertise. At Kaspersky Lab that talent is gathered into GReAT, a global team of 30+ analysts from across the world. Costin specializes in analyzing advanced persistent threats and high-level malware attacks. He is leading the Global Research and Analysis Team at Kaspersky that researched the inner workings of Stuxnet, Duqu, Flame, Gauss and more recently, Red October and MiniDuke. Costin’s work includes analyzing malicious websites, exploits and online banking malware. Costin is a member of the Virus Bulletin Technical Advisory Board, a member of the Computer AntiVirus Researchers’ Organization (CARO) and a reporter for the Wildlist Organization International.
The annual V3 awards gives its readers the opportunity to vote for the technology companies – and their products, projects and people – they believe have been most successful over the past 12 months. The award ceremony took place on Friday 29th November at The Waldorf Hilton Hotel, London.
